Nainital is a valley nestled in between the Kumaon foothills of the Himalayan range. The highlight of this British era town, is the eye-shaped lake situated at the heart of the quaint town; hence the name Nainital. Boating and Yachting are the two main attractions here. The lake is surrounded by the Mall Road, home to the many small shops, outlets and numerous hotels, even a library and post office and the popular Naina Devi Temple on Thandi Sarak. This is a favourite haunt of thousands of tourists pouring in, especially in the summer months of May and June. The temperate climate offers much solace from the blistering heat of the Indian plains.
